Elevator Repair Service retells “The Bacchae” — set in St. Louis, of all places — with songs, choreography, and found objects that include an Igloo cooler, a koosh ball, and a stainless-steel thermos with glued-on eyes. That this hilarious show doesn’t always make sense seems to be the point; the troupe’s interpretation of Euripides’ tragedy conveys the absurdity of Greek myth. The minimal staging set off the production’s best visuals — the costumes, which include blue vinyl pants, a wraparound parka, and a black ensemble trimmed with packets of Chinese-food condiments.
