VIN KNIGHT
Company Member Profile

Where were you born? Baton Rouge, LA
First job you ever had: Paper boy
Worst job you ever had: I’ve been lucky. I was a litigation paralegal for close to 25 years — that was my day job. The last 17 of those years were at NBC, which was great. I really liked the work and especially loved my colleagues. Before that I was at a law firm (which shall remain nameless) and, while my tenure could have been shorter, I met some great people there, too.
Most surprising thing about you: I have no idea. You’d have to ask someone else.
Favorite ERS show (whether you were involved in it or not): The Sound and the Fury
Best thing about working with ERS: Working. So many actors spend more time looking for the next job than actually working. At ERS, we are very fortunate to be able to create new shows and tour existing ones, both of which we are looking forward to with a great deal of hope and enthusiasm.
What do you love about what you do? There are few things I don’t love about it, but mainly I love the people. I can’t wait to get back in a room with them again!
Any quarantine reading/viewing/listening, dining, or wellness tips? Not necessarily tips, but I’ve done some deep dives. I like a project.
Reading: Proust (that took a while); the Patrick Melrose Novels (that took less time); all of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s stories (he wrote a LOT of them, and some remain uncollected, but I managed to track them down via online databases and a very kind reference librarian).
Viewing: Filling in gaps in the Ingmar Bergman and John Huston filmographies. Not everything Bergman made is a depressing masterpiece, and nothing Huston made is entirely without wit or charm.
Listening: Spending a lot of time lately with Sammy Davis Jr.
Any pets? Peeves. What’s the word for a group of them? Posse? A Posse of Peeves.
Which do you prefer: french toast, pancakes, or waffles? Bacon
Which do you prefer: classical music, jazz, or show tunes? Jazz versions of show tunes
