Production and Stage Management Internship

Production and Stage Management Internship: This position must be available up to 25 hours per week during rehearsal/ production periods (usually lasting 2-4 weeks). Interns can return for future rehearsal/ production periods or commit to a single one. Our next rehearsal period is scheduled for November/ December 2019.

OVERVIEW:

This internship offers the chance to participate in the rehearsal process, assisting an integral ensemble member: the stage manager. The intern will work closely with ERS’s Stage Manager, Maurina Lioce, and occasionally our Artistic Director John Collins. They have full access to the artistic process in the rehearsal room.

This position is ideal for artists looking to be directors or stage managers of experimental, ensemble-based theater. Previous stage management experience is not required. Applicants must be extremely punctual, organized, available by text, and have the flexibility in their schedules to attend (and arrive 20 minutes early to) each rehearsal. Interns with technical skills, such as video editing may also have the opportunity to participate in the creation of trailers and work samples. Interns who are interested in attending production meetings, or who are interested in non-profit artistic direction may also meet with relevant staff members regularly. This is a great internship for artists who want to be in the rehearsal room and are willing to help out with whatever is needed during the creative process.
